The colors of the Star of Life represent the following:

RED for strength & courage
PURPLE for unusual gallantry, extraordinary fidelity and essential service
BLACK for mourning
BLUE for peace, healing, hope and protection

UMC Lubbock EMS would like to honor those members who have paid the ultimate price and given their lives in the line of duty.  This page is a memorial to those dedicated EMS professionals who gave their lives while serving their fellow man.
